Pam's Morning Punch

Here's the recipe for what I call The Morning Punch. It was adapted from a recipe with sugar and ginger ale. Although we SCDers normally avoid strong tea, this ingredient in the recipe is highly diluted by the juices before serving. A dash of grated ginger probably wouldn't come amiss either.

Dissolve:
3/4 cup (+/-) honey
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice to suit personal taste (should be on the tart side)

Add:
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 1/3 cups strong tea
1 quart/litre soda or spring water
Two trays of ice cubes

The name UCLBS was inspired by the wit of the Upper Canada Lower Bowel Clinic in Toronto, a respected group of gastroenterologists. The UCLBS is, however, an independent group of Ontarians who are following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet to treat inflammatory/irritable bowel problems, and does not represent therapy recommendations of the clinic.
